Coalition For Racial Reconciliation

The Coalition for Racial Reconciliation is currently an ecumenical coalition of five Christian congregations in the Columbus, Ohio, area. The congregations represent different denominations. The coalition is an antiracism movement. It began with the men’s groups of Woodland Christian Church and Northwest United Methodist Church and has grown to include women and clergy. The Co-Leaders of the Coalition are Dr. Eric Brown, Senior Pastor of Woodland and Rev. Chris Rinker, Associate Pastor of Northwest. We offer an antiracism service on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and on Juneteenth. We have an antiracism retreat every year in the month of August. We also sponsor a health fair every year in the Spring. We usually meet the fourth Saturday of every month to continue to educate ourselves about systemic racism and how we can identify systemic racism in various settings in order to address it. We meet at each of our member churches on a rotating basis. This is not a closed group. We continue to invite members and representatives of other congregations as well. Anyone is welcome to check us out and join us if combating systemic racism is of interest to you.

Eastside Fellowship Ministries

The Eastside Fellowship Ministries consists of six congregations representing five different denominations: Woodland Christian Church, St. Philip Episcopal Church, Asbury North United Methodist Church, St. Philip Lutheran Church, Hope Lutheran Church, and Bethany Presbyterian Church. The Fellowship also includes the Chaplain Ministry of OSU Hospital East and Joint-Heir Ministries.

We get together during the Lenten season every year, worshipping at each congregation on Wednesday nights with each pastor preaching. We raise money during the Lenten season which the Eastside Fellowship clergy distributes to chosen non profit organizations that provide needed services to the community and to the city of Columbus.
